Third Place in the Antiques Roadshow Top Ten Items
Formerly the most valuable appraisal to ever appear on the US broadcast of the Antiques Roadshow, but knocked into 2nd place in January 2009, and then into 3rd place in January 2010. This hand-woven Navajo Ute First Phase wearing blanket is a representation of the very beginnings of Navajo textile creation. This national treasure sat on the back of a chair for generations.
the guy sold it for over 1 million dollors to a musium
omg if i was the old guy i would half died
the Manteca Antiques Roadshow is waaaayyyy better than this one ;P
Watch it.
Unbelievable. In swedish antique roadshow, three years ago a very rare “astrolabium” was valued to 5 million swedish crowns, about $700 000. Unfortunately there are no videos of this on youtube.
I’ve been kinda in a similar position… I discovered something of value last year that I had taken for granted as perhaps historical, but ultimately junk. Turned out to be worth between $5000-$10000. I just about melted the same way. Kudos to this guy.
wtf?
@BrianMikasa
Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin crude.
holy shit. i’d crap my pants!
ahahaha u wish that was true
@ilovedragons Maybe this man is part American Indian. My great grandmother was Cherokee, but you wouldn’t know it to look at me.
you could invest the money from it and make even more money than the weaving would by itself
hes a smashing chap old ted i wish i could be decent like him instead of being such an ass hole thats why iv got nothing bad karma
and the American Indians still get nothing!
Love the way he says, “but there been no wealth.”
Holy crap, even if we had a dollar for every view this youtube video has, we wouldn’t be able to afford that!
Why sell it immediately? Unless you need the money RIGHT THEN… I would probably hold off awhile longer! The value is just going to increase over time…
Hes from the same town as me!
half a mil seems heavy for a rug?
excellent
you deserve it buddy
@ Straygos thank u so much man
@ Alfrunk Kit Carson was a Monster. Every hear of the Long Walk? Why don’t you look that part of history up Alfrunk?
amazing to happen to such a nice man
i think the old guy is going to have heart attack when he heard how much it will cost. He was holding his chest..
I would sell that weaving immediately!
